“Here is an effective method of solving problems :
- Write down what the problem is :
Write it down exactly, precisely and concisely. Charles Ketterin, the great inventive genius of General Motors said, “A problem well stated is a problem half solved”.
- Write down what the causes of the problems are :
Get all the facts. Be sure the facts are exact, clear, and impartial. Herbert Hawks of Columbia University said, “Half the worry in the world is caused by people trying to make decisions before they have sufficient knowledge on which to base a decision. If a man will devote his time to securing knowledge in an impartial, objective way, his worries will usually evaporate in the light of knowledge”.
- Write down every effective solution:
Remember that each possible solution of your problem is the impartial result of trying the case from both sides. It is always good to have more solutions by thinking from different angles. You can consult your friend or an expert if the problems requires involving such people.
- Decide which solution to put into effect :
If you analyze the pros and cons of each solution, then your decision would be relatively easy. Then feed all of your possible solution into your “mental computer” – (sub-conscious mind) and let it work on the solutions in its own way for the next few days. meanwhile relax. The best solution will soon become clear in your mind.
- Start immediately to put the solution into effect and persist vigorously:
Vigorous action is important to justify all your planning in the previous stage. When once you begin to act, do not look back. When once a decision is reached and execution is taken up, dismiss all anxiety about the outcome.
If you successfully solve the problems, which come your way, you will become the master of most of life’s difficulties.
